Degrassi: Next Class follows the lives of the students from Degrassi Community School, a fictional high school in Toronto. It is the fifth series in the Degrassi franchise. The series covers issues such as mental illness, homophobia, racism, drug use, feminism, sexuality, religion, life threatening diseases, online harassment, and dysfunctional families.

After the death of his wife, Sarah, John West, packs up his three children and moves from their hectic urban life to his small northern hometown to take command of the local search-and-rescue service. Once there, the family struggles with their new surroundings, new friends and accepting Sarah's death.

High school is hard enough when you're different, but when outcast BFFs Astrid and Lilly accidentally crack open a portal to a terrifyingly quirky monster dimension, it gets a lot more complicated.
